A Brief History...

Easterseals Blake Foundation is dedicated to the vision of a Southern Arizona community where all people live healthy, productive, and independent lives. EBF serves more than 30,000 individuals and families across 10 counties of Southern Arizona.

Sage Ceramics is one of EBF’s Employment and Community Living programs.

Our supported employment programs for adults with intellectual and physical disabilities, allow employees to work closely with job coaches to gain competitive work skills in the field of their choice. Employees also receive technical expertise in adaptive equipment and workplace modifications.

Meet the Artist

Marie P.

Marie P.

Marie is staining adobe-style terra cotta ornaments in a white wash finish. Marie loves Pokémon, music and dancing.
Marie has worked at Sage Ceramics for more than 4 years. Prior to working at Sage, she trained at the Project Search program at Banner hospital.
Daniel P.

Daniel P.

Daniel is working in the kiln room. He has gained experience in setting up the kiln in preparation for loading the greenware and the painted bisque ware. Daniel works at the ranch 3 days per week. He feeds and care for many of the farm animals.
This is Daniel’s 14th year working at Sage Ceramics.
Edward B.

Edward B.

Edward is preparing art for firing and works to smooth the greenware products. Ed speaks fluent German and loves to sketch.
Kevin C.

Kevin C.

Kevin is an artist at heart. He works in all aspects of the ceramic-making process. However, Kevin is especially skilled at painting anything that requires detail. He is also an experienced illustrator. A few years ago, he illustrated a book for his brother. Kevin has worked at Sage Ceramics for 23 years.

Laura has worked at Sage Ceramics for more than 14 years.
Her favorite part of the ceramic making process is painting the bisqueware in preparation for firing.

Jennifer D.

Jen has worked at Sage Ceramics for more than 19 years. She loves to paint the bisqueware in preparation for firing.

Melissa W.

Melissa is a hard worker. She is very friendly and loves the work that she does. Melissa has sold at many arts and crafts fairs with her sister. Every year she joins her sister and brother-in-law at the annual Renaissance festivals. Melissa enjoys dressing up in her costume as Queen Melissa of the Renaissance era.

Adrianne is skilled at many of the ceramic making processes. Here she is smoothing a medium-sized gecko in preparation for firing.
Adrianne has worked at Sage Ceramics for more than 12 years. During that time she has also developed the skill of greeting our customers by answering incoming phone calls.
